ASIA-PACIFIC GEOSPATIAL FORUM
The Asia-Pacific Geospatial Forum (APGF) has evolved into a pivotal platform for geospatial information enthusiasts and practitioners to convene, exchanging experiences, skills, innovations, and future directions. This forum primarily serves as a support system for members of the United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management for Asia and the Pacific (UNGGIM-AP), national geospatial agencies, the geospatial industry, and the community to come together in Bali, Indonesia.
Bali has been a beacon of tourism excellence for nations worldwide for over a decade. Now, it represents an opportune moment to gather, especially after the global pandemic of COVID-19. Indonesia, as a permanent UNGGIM-AP member and the host country for APGF in 2023, offers an ideal setting for this occasion, scheduled for early November 2023. It aligns perfectly with the end of the year, allowing for reflections on the past year and projections for a promising 2024.
The theme for APGF 2023 is “Embracing Geospatial Innovation for a Sustainable World.” This forum provides a platform for geospatial practitioners from across the globe, with a particular focus on the Asia-Pacific region, to share their innovations in geospatial information that contribute to global initiatives aimed at achieving a sustainable world. Another significant goal is to foster collaboration with UNGGIM-AP, UNGEGN, UNSD, and other relevant bodies to advance the development of geospatial information on a global scale.
